China Licensing Expo

Brief

Kodansha, the Japanese publishing house, asked us to create head-turning brand presence at the China Licensing Expo in Shanghai – a geographical first for both client and agency. ​

Experience12 produced an eye-catching stand that bought buildings, props and characters from Kodansha’s hit properties to life – including a 4m tall replica tofu shop, a real Toyota AE86 from hit anime series Initial D and two larger-than-life cute rabbit characters called Mokona Modokis!

Results

Did it work?

Kodansha were delighted with their brand visibility and the number of leads generated on this bright and engaging stand at a very busy business expo.

This was a first-time appearance for the brand at this show; plans are already being made for a return in 2025.
