WATCH | Eurovision
It’s only blinking Eurovision weekend! Sit back, settle in and see Liverpool (standing in for Kyiv 🇺🇦) a massive weekend bringing to the end a week of celebration of the glam
and the glorious and errrm metal these days . If you need the lowdown on what’s going on it’s always good to check out old friends www.PopBitch.com and they also have a handy downloadable guide as well https://popbitch.com/eurovision-2023-the-popbitch-guide/
WATCH | Hannah Waddingham
Queen of the screen graduated from stage to ‘shame nun’ from GoTs to Football club owner in Ted Lasso to Eurovision host to full-blown national treasure. Joyous. And after the weekend, full-blown legend.
DO | Get outside!
Sunshine has been missing presumed dead this year so far. So with the prospect of a sunny and warm weekend (on what feels like the only weekend in May that isn’t a bank holiday) break out the summer clothes and bbq or hit the pub garden to make the most of this scarce resource. (This may not apply to everyone check your local forecast)
BINGE | Race Across the World Finale
One of the lockdown breakout TV shows came to the end of its third season. I went into it thinking that Canada would be less of a challenge but soon realised that it’s not about the where it’s about who and the remarkable kindness of strangers. It’s the best of content, a human story. In a world that can seem a little bleaker than it used to it’s a real balm. Binge on Sunday if hungover from Eurovision and the sunshine is too bright.
LISTEN | This Much is True: Miriam Margolyes
It’s exactly what you’d hope and a little bit more. Be prepared for less swearing that you’d expect, a fair smattering of gossip from over the years and a real insight into the life of one of the greatest living British thespians. She doesn’t mince her words (don’t ever mention the two ‘Bs’ to her) but it’s such a warm, honest, open and earthy account of a life warts and all it’s a pleasure to be invited on to listen to all the perfectly executed accents.
